Meet Lucy, the owner of Lily Jane!
My love for retail began at a young age. I spent hours rearranging displays at my grandmother's consignment shop, Second Time Around, in downtown Columbia, TN. I consider myself to be a professional gift giver (is there such a job title?). I love buying for people! For as long as I can remember I've torn pages of product ideas out of magazines with the intention of researching more about particular brands.
I had dreams of a career in a big city working in fashion journalism and soon realized that my heart was drawn to a different lifestyle. I loved my hometown of Columbia, TN and was aware of the need for more retail options. Lily Jane (named for both of my grandmothers) opened its doors in 2008 in a small room inside a local coffee shop. Each year proved to be better (and more fun) than the last. The shop relocated to our historic downtown square in the fall of 2015. As my family continued to grow I realized my heart was no longer in the women's side of fashion. I found so much joy growing our selection of baby merchandise year after year and in 2022 transitioned to a baby and children's boutique.
I am grateful to so many. Family, friends, and our customers are all a part of what has made Lily Jane so special. I also realize that none of this would be possible without my fellow teammates. I have incredible people putting in so much energetic passion, effort, and countless hours. Each of them is very talented at what they do, both in the shop and behind the scenes. Last, but 100% not least, I'm incredibly lucky to have the most supportive husband and four precious children.
Meet DeeAnna, our Store Manager. Hear a bit more about her story below.
"Back in January of 2022, I took on the Store Manager Position! I had just recently graduated Nursing School at the time, but felt this strong tug at my heart when trying to decide how I could ever leave Lily Jane. I started as a Sales Associate back in 2018, and grew such a special bond with the ladies that make up this store. This quickly became my family, after all the wisdom the ladies of Lily Jane shared with me, all the love they continued to show me, and the support they never failed to give. After some hard thought and prayers, I finally came to the conclusion that this is my "Home" and I LOVE IT! This is truly one of the happiest places on earth, it's not as easy as it may look, but dang its worth it. My favorite parts of Lily Jane over the past few years have changed a bit, but one thing that will never change is how much I adore our customer base, all of our conversations (Retail Therapy is realllll), and the friendships this gem of a place has brought me. We are so excited for this next phase of Lily Jane, and we hope you are too!"
Meet Paige, Our Floor Manager! If you shop with us during the Weekdays, most likely Paige is helping you! She has been such an asset to us with her prior history of management on a corporate level. Read below to hear what Lily Jane means to Paige.
"Lily Jane is more than a job, it is a lifestyle. I love the Maury County community and supporting small businesses. So why not do my two favorite things? Having two small children, my heart is in children’s clothing and meeting new families. Lily Jane’s work place is like a family and the people I meet become family, which is so special to make these amazing connections with those who love our community as much as I do. I look forward to meeting you in the shop!"
